ARTICI,E I' <br /> <br />Section 1- <br /> <br />Name and Description <br /> <br />The name of this agency shall be The Salisbury-Rowan Community Service <br />Council, Inc. (hereafter referred to as the Council), a nonprofit <br />corporation incorporated under the laws of the State of North Carolina <br />and recognized by the Eeonomle Opportu~ty Act of 1964, as amended as <br />the proper body to eaaxy out the purposes and functions set out in these <br />Bylaws. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />The principal o/]~ce of the Council shall be located in the City of Salisbury, <br />County of Rowan. The Council may have .such other offices within the <br />State of North Carolina. as membership may determine. <br /> <br />Article <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />The Council shall be an .organization, that provides a means to achieve the <br />following objectives'in Rowan County and other, designated service areas. <br /> <br /> a. The planning, development, implementation and coordination <br />of community action programs in Rowan County and other counties in <br />accordance with and under the provisions of the Economic Opportunity <br />Act as amended <br /> b. The eneourage~uent of the broadest possible understanding <br />and support of 'the work of 'the agency's programs, planning and <br />consultation among health, recreational, educational, welfare, civic and <br />other community service organizations and programs; <br />e. The attainment of optimum standards of service and efficiency;, <br />d. The encouragement of joint study and determination ofunmet <br />needs for service and the developl,,ent of programs to meet said needs <br /> <br /> <br />
