Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />recognition is due all of these individuals to show appreciation <br />for the value and the accomplishments of all of these individuals <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Proclamation - Annual Day of Prayer (May 2, 2002) - Commissioner Fennel <br /> <br /> Commissioner Fennel armounced the following events planned~ in <br />celebration of the National and Cabarrus County Day of Prayer on May 2, 2002: <br />Saturday, April 27, 2002, 9:00 a.m. - Cabarrus County Prayer Breakfast <br />(Fellowship Hall at "The Village", First Assembly of God, Concord), Special <br />Guests - Cabarrus County Police, Fire and Emergency Personnel; Thursday, May <br />2 - National and Cabarrus County Day of Prayer- Noon Prayer Rally, Cabarrus <br />County Government Center (Leader - Pastor Jeff Smith); and Thursday, May 2"d, <br />7:30 p.m. - Evening Community Prayer Gathering (Parking Lot at "The Village", <br />First Assembly of God, Concord). <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Suggs and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Proclamation. <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> DAY OF pRAyER <br />F%rst Thursday of May <br />PROCL~/~ATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the first Thursday of May has been designated as the NATIONAL <br />DAY OF PRAYER; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Jeremiah. 29:12-13 states, 'Then you will call upon Me, and go <br />and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And yoU will seek Me and find Me, <br />when you search for Me with all your heart;" and <br /> <br /> WHEP~EAS, the vast majority of citizens in Cabarz~/s County believe in <br />the Judeo-Christian values that have made and keep our country great; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, we all need to continually give thanks to God for his many <br />blessings in our lives and to 9ray for those in authority (I Timothy 2:1-2) <br />and for our county, our state and our nation; and <br /> <br /> WHEP, F-~S,'Jeremiah 29 says to pray for God's guidance in your life and <br />that of our country; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Isaiah 59 says to exercise humility and repentance with <br />confession for yourself and for our nation, praying that our country will <br />return to its spiritual roots; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, I Timothy 2 and Romans 12 tell us to pray that the people of <br />our nation would respect one another and be bound together beyond racial and' <br />religious barriers, asking for God's unity to restore the people. <br /> <br /> THEREFORE, the Cabarrus Count~ Board of Commissioners declares that the <br />first Thursday in May this year (May 2, 2002) and each subsequent Lear be <br />declared The Annual Cabarrus Coun=y Day of Praye~.
