Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes <br />3uly 18, 2002 <br /> <br />Page 10 <br /> <br />Ms. Lingafelt said to Mr. Motley that she is very sensitive to his <br />situation because she grew up around an airport. She said airport <br />noise is very difficult to live with. Ms. Lingafelt said with this plan <br />that we have, it is already consistent with the general industrial use <br />and she thinks that is probably what needs to be done. <br /> <br />Mr. Wilder said he does not see anybody else ever wanting to build <br />a house there unless you are family. He said they did not know in <br />:L997 that they were going to build these houses. He said he <br />understands the land use planning, he understands spot zoning, <br />but this spot is already there. <br /> <br />The Chair said there is a motion and a seconded to approve this <br />rezoning with the limitation of four additional houses being added. <br /> <br />The vote was 6 to 3. Mr. Benton, Mr. Drye,'Mr. Griffin, Mr. Moore, <br />Mr. Moose and Mr. Wilder in favor of the rezoning. Mr. Dwiggins, <br />Mr. Hill and Ms. Lingafelt against the rezoning. <br />Petition C02-02(R) Approved <br /> <br />Mr. Lentz said that did not meet the superior majority vote <br />requirement. The rezoning petition will automatically be forwarded <br />to the Board of Commissioners at their August meeting. He said <br />the rules for the rezoning are that this board can make a final <br />decision only if it's vote is of a 75% majority. <br /> <br />Mr. Drye asked if that was stated before the Board votes. <br /> <br />Mr. Lentz said no he did not mention it. <br /> <br />Mr. Koch said that is the rule for every rezoning. <br /> <br />Mr. Lentz asked if the Board wanted to take another vote. <br /> <br />The Chair asked if there was a motion to reconsider th~ vote. <br />Hearing none the Chair said the vote stands as approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
