Pleasant Middle School/Park <br />Site instead of renovating the existing courts and the expansion of the <br />tennis courts at Central Cabarrus High School to regulation USTA size. He <br />recommended the award of the bid to the low bidder, H & L Paving, Inc., in <br />the negotiated amount of $174,680.00. <br /> <br /> There was brief discussion regarding the proposal, including the poor <br />condition of the existing courts at Mt. Pleasant Middle School as well as the <br />location of tennis courts at a middle school. Mr. Little advised that the <br />new tennis courts at the middle school were a component of the school/park <br />concept and would serve the needs of the Mt. Pleasant community as well as <br />the school. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board awarded the bid for tennis court <br />construction at the Mt. Pleasant Middle and Central Cabarrus High School/Park <br />sites to the low bidder, H & L Paving, Inc., in the amount of $174,680.00. <br /> <br />Addition of the Mills Out-Parcel to the Concord Mills Project Incentive Grant <br />es Awarded <br /> <br /> Mr. Ramsey Meiser of The Mills Corporation reviewed the company's plans <br />to develop the out-parcel property at the Concord Mills Mall, including a tract <br />located at the southeast corner of the Interstate 85 and Concord Mills/Speedway <br />Boulevard interchange. He requested that the out-parcel property be subject to <br />the original Mills Incentive Grant Award. <br /> <br /> There was brief discussion regarding Mr. Meiser's request as well as <br />general discussion concerning incentive grants for retail establishments and <br />the fairness of those grants to other businesses. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Casper <br />with Commissioners Carpenter, Casper and Barnhart and Chairman Fennel voting <br />for and Commissioner Privette voting against, the Board approved the addition <br />of the Mills out-parcel to the Mills Incentive Grant as awarded. <br /> <br />Award of Con~ra~t ($$3,795.~2) tO Prgp~ Con9%ruc~ion Company for the <br />Demolition and Removal of Vacant Structure on Corban Avenue and AdoPtion of <br />Budqet Amendment <br /> <br /> The following informal bids were received for the demolition and removal <br />of the vacated school building located at 70 Corban Avenue in Concord. <br /> <br />Reid Trucking & Grading Company <br />Propst Construction Company <br /> <br />$32,050.00 <br />$33,795.32 <br /> <br /> <br />
