RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION <br /> <br /> AD UL T CPR MASS TRAINING SESSION ,4 T <br /> NORTHWEST CABARRUS HIGH SCHOOL <br /> <br /> .4 ,ril 6, zooo <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, cardiopulmonary r~suscitation (CPR) is a life-saving procedure that <br />doubles a person's chance of survival when suffering cardiac arrest; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Northwest Cabarms High School Student Council, recognizing the <br />importance of CPR training for students as well as the entire community, organized an effort to <br />break the current Guinness World Records for the number of individuals simultaneously trained <br />in Adult CPR at one location; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Student Council, in coordination with the Cabarrus County Chapter of <br />the American Red Cross, successfully planned, organized and hosted the record breaking event <br />on April 6, providing free Adult CPR training to over 1,420 students, teachers and members of <br />the community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, special commendation is due the Student Body Officers - Travis Dove, <br />President; Candice Page, Vice President; Kristen Lilly, Secretary; and George Wood, Treasurer- <br />for their initiative, leadership and outstanding display of team work in organizing the successful <br />CPR training project. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners salutes the Northwest High School Student Body Officers for their leadership <br />and initiative in organizing the free Adult CPR mass training project on April 6, 2000 and <br />extends appreciation to the student body officers as well as to all students, teachers and other <br />individuals who assisted with and/or participated in the CPR mass l~aining session, making our <br />community a safer place to live and work. <br /> <br />This the 17th day of April 2000. <br /> <br />Ame L.
