She said she understand <br />the problem with schools. <br /> <br />Mr. Bigford said this piece of property was fairly expensive. He said they need <br />this property rezoned. <br /> <br />The Chair said the front piece of property is already zoned commercial. He <br />asked the applicant if that is what he wanted it zoned. <br /> <br />Mr. Bigford said yes. <br /> <br />Hr. Newton said as a special use they want to eliminate 30 something uses and <br />create a mixed use development. He said they currently have limited commercial <br />but it has to many uses. <br /> <br />The Chair closed the Public Hearing on Petition C00-06(R). <br /> <br />The Chair said the issue before the Board tonight is this rezoning. He said if the <br />Board wants to direct staff to study and bring a recommendation to change the <br />automatic granting of multi-family homes that is something that needs to be <br />done separately. <br /> <br />Ms. Kiker said to the Chair if the Board agrees to this then they have totally <br />ignored the adequate facilities ordinance because he is automatically approved. <br /> <br />Ms. Kiker said based on that she MO'I~ONED to deny Petition C00-06(R), <br />seconded by Mr. Love. <br /> <br />The Chair said he would like to get a clarification for that. He asked what do we <br />have here. It looks like we have something that has a buy around the adequate <br />facilities ordinance. He asked if the Board has left something open.
