Kim Brown, the Justice System Specialist (336-7343) and Sandy Lewis, the <br />Program Coordinator (336-4152) of the Structured Day Program will provide references <br />for our agency and its ability to deliver quality substance abuse services. They are located <br />at 901 Elizabeth Ave. Fifth Floor, Charlotte, North Carolina 28204. <br /> Two additional contracts that we currently hold are with the Federal Department <br />of Corrections, Probation Department. Psychiatric and Forensic Associates provides <br />mental health services as well as forensic evaluations and SAIl. provides [OPT for clients <br />with substance abuse problems. We have provided mental health services since <br />September 1997 and substance abuse treatment since October 1998. To secure a <br />reference from this agency, please contact: Mr. Randy Richardson, US District Court. <br />Western District, Department of Probation, 500 Bankers Building, 312 West Trade <br />Street, Charlotte, North Carolina 28202. The phone number is 704-350-7647. <br /> Psychiatric and Forensic Associates has also worked closely with industry. We <br />have conducted training sessions on workplace violence, recognition of employee mental <br />health issues and substance abuse problems. Safety in the work place is compromised <br />when employees have undetected problems. A series of workshops were held over a three <br />month period at Alcoa, Badin Works Plant to address this problem with all supervisors <br />and employees. Psychiatric and Forensic Associates/SAIL has been one of the EAP <br />service providers for Alcoa for the past three years. He can be reached at 704-422-5688. <br /> <br />Personnel <br /> <br /> L. Morris McEwen, MD is the Medical Director of Psychiatric and Forensic <br />Associates. He is certified by ASAM and is Board Eligible in General and Forensic <br />Psychiatry. He has worked in the field of addictions since 1975. His resume is included. <br /> Mayank Dalai. MD is an Associate. He is Board Certified in Psychiatw and has <br />Completed Fellowships in Forensics and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has <br />extensive experience in corrections having worked these past two years at a variety of <br />correctional facilities in Florida. <br /> Stephanie B. McEwen, Ph.D. is the Director of Clinical Services. She completed <br />her Ph.D. in 1989 in Counseling Psychology and has worked in the mental health and <br />substance abuse fields since 1976. She has had variety of academic appointments both in <br />New Mexico and Florida. She is also the co-founder of SAIL. Her resume is included. <br /> All of the above individuals will be involved with the program should it be <br />awarded Dr. Stephanie McEwen will be involved in the weekly treatment meetings and <br />will have the primary administrative responsibility for the organization, staff, and <br />management of this program. She will work closely with the criminal justice staff and be <br />available for the Advisory meetings. Both Psychiatrists will stay involved with the <br />program through meeting with the counselor(s) or clients to offer assistance with dual <br />diagnosis individuals. <br /> Thomas Austin, CSAC will be the start-up Program Director.
