Sleeping during meetings is not permitted. Ifa client sleeps, then the session will <br /> not count. <br /> Radios, headphones, sunglasses, cell phones, radio pagers (beepers), and drug or <br /> gang oriented clothing will not be permitted. There will be no eating or drinking during <br /> sessions. Material not associated with treatment will not be worked on during treatment <br /> sessions. Disruptive behavior will result in the client being asked to leave the session and <br /> talk with the substance abuse counselor immediately following the session. Ifa client is <br /> asked to leave a session at any time, the session will not count. <br /> Violence or threats of violence will result in immediate termination of the client <br />from SAIL program and immediate referral to the appropriate court personnel. The <br />~ buying, selling, distributing, or using of'substances in, around or on the property will <br /> result in immediate notification of the client's probation officer and termination from the <br /> SAIL program. <br /> Breaking group anonymity, lack of participation, disrespecting group or staff, and <br /> "war stories" will not be permitted. Breaking the rules will result in sanctions such as <br /> increased AA/NA attendance, loss of credit for sessions, suspension, and/or termination <br /> from the SAr~, program. <br /> In order to continue to provide quality care, SAIL will continually assess client <br /> responsibilities and make changes as necessary. <br /> <br />PRIOR EXPERIENCE <br /> <br /> Southeast Addiction Institute and Learning Center (SAIL) was first incorporated <br />in 1990 in Georgia. It was founded to provide quality education, training, and treatment <br />in the field of substance abuse. The founders, L. Morris McEwen, MD and Stephanie <br />McEwen, Ph.D. have conducted countless training workshops as well as lectured since its <br />inception. [n addition, Dr. Mort-is McEwen has worked in the field of addictions since <br />1975. He has directed both inpatient as well as outpatient programs. He is certified by the <br />American Society of Addiction Medicine as well as being a Forensic Psychiatrist. <br />Stephanie McEwen, Ph.D. has served as the administrator of a variety of substance abuse <br />programs, and has spoken at the national as well as state level on a variety of top/cs <br />around women, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> Psychiatric and Forensic Associates, PA was founded in 1995 in Charlotte, North <br />Carolina and SAIL was subsumed by this organization. This has permitted the delivery, of <br />a full range of'services in the field of mental health, substance abuse, and dual diagnosis. <br />Psychiatric and Forensic Associates is located at 1515 Mockingbird Lane, Suite 111 and <br />at 924 North Second Street in Albemarle. <br /> Our most recent and current experience in the delivery of contract services is with <br />the Mecklenburg County Structured Day Program (SDP) a grantee/'or the NC <br />Department of Correction-Criminal Justice Partnership Program. SAIL provides the <br />substance abuse treatment program for the Structured Day Program. This program <br />operates from 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Monday through Friday. We provide intensive <br />outpatient substance abuse treatment as well as an innovative Dealers Program, called <br />Cognitive Restructuring. We started our second contract year, July 1, 1998. <br /> <br /> <br />
