At the time of unloading, all materials will be screened for identification and
acceptability. Unacceptable materials including radioactive, biologically active or infectious, and
explosive materials will not be removed from vehicles. Classification of wastes will be
performed with the data obtained by the Chemists and Technicians. Observations will include
material labeling, type of containers, condition of containers, physical characteristics, donor
comments and donor responses to questions.

Emphasis will be placed upon limiting the time each participant remains in line. Our goal is to
minimize waiting as much as possible. To this end, participants will be asked to remain in their
vehicles unless they must unlock doors or trunks. It is suggested that enough room be available
at the collection site for six unloading stations.

Segregation and Packaging

Waste will be placed in a designated area for further identification and segregation into hazard
classes. Most wastes will be consolidated or loose packed to reduce the County's cost for the
project. Paints, automotive fluids, solvents, cleaners and paint-related products with Iow solid
content will be consolidated on-site. Wastes will be packaged in the largest practical container,
in accordance with all applicable regulations and facility requirements. Packaged wastes will be
placed in a staging area for inventory and final inspection.

Bulk liquids, loose packs and aerosols will be packaged in cubic yard boxes, 55 gallon steel
drums or 9 gallon pails. Lab packs will be packaged in steel or fiber containers, depending on
container size and regulatory requirements.

ECOFLO, INC,
Greensboro, North Caroli~l~l
