screen following the baseline will result in a reevaluation by the substance abuse <br />counselor and possible intensification of level care will be probable. Upon testing <br />positive a second time, the client will be required to seek inpatient treatment. Once the <br />client returns from inpa_tien~ treatment, another positive drug screen will result in <br />notification of the entire treatment team for possible termination from the treatment <br />program. Ifa client approaches a staff member to admit to using prior to being asked for <br />collection, it will be left to the discretion of the treatment team as to how the client will <br />be sanctioned. Intensification of treatment, increase of meetings, and requirement for <br />inpatient treatment are possible outcomes. An open admission of drug usage does not <br />necessarily mean that the client will be considered as having a positive drug screen. <br /> The guidelines and policies that have been previously established by the criminal <br />justice program will be followed in all matters involving failure to comply with <br />treatment. In-service will be provided by the funding agency to counselors to familiarize <br />them to existing rules and regulations already in place. <br /> It will be the responsibility of the substance abuse counselor(s) to provide <br />education and group therapy on the scheduled day. Substance abuse counselors will also <br />be expected to complete bio-psycho-socials, screenings as necessary, treatment plans, <br />daily progress notes, and completion of all documentation as required by the program in a <br />timely manner. The substance abuse counselor(s) is responsible for the clinical care of'the <br />client. This includes maintaining a roster of ali clients on the counselor's caseload and <br />reporting absences, [ate arrivals, and problems to the case manager and probation officer. <br /> The program coordinator will supervise the substance abuse counselors and all <br />clinical activities. The program coordinator will monitor for quality of care and assurance <br />of coverage of groups should a substance abuse counselor be unavailable. The program <br />coordinator will complete all documentation relating to this position required by the <br />partnership program. It will also be the program coordinator's responsibility to attempt to <br />contact all SAIL graduates for the past 12 months on a quarterly basis. This will allow for <br />each graduate to be monitored for up to one year despite post-graduate aftercare <br />attendance. <br /> SAIL has the benefit of two Psychiatrists (one, Certified by ASAM, American <br />Society of Addiction Medicine, both, Forensic Psychiatrists). It will be the responsibility <br />of L. Moms McEwen, MD (ASAM Certified) to monitor and supervise the entire SAIL <br />program. Both psychiatrists will be available for consultations. The availability of <br />psychiatric care also allows for quick mental health assessments with dual diagnosed <br />clients, or those clients presenting evidence ora dual diagnosis. The Psychiatrists will <br />provide feedback to the substance abuse counselor(s) for appropriate mental health <br />referrals when necessary as well as assist the counselor(s) in providing more effective <br />clinical care. <br /> <br />Client Responsibilities/Rules <br /> <br /> It is the philosophy of SAIL that the primary responsibility of the successful <br />completion of treatment and ongoing recovery belongs to the client. Therefore, rules and <br />responsibilities are established that holds the client responsible. Consequences are <br /> <br /> <br />
