The Retirement of <br /> Mark Kitris <br />Land Records Manager <br /> <br />Effective date of retirement - 5/30/98 <br /> <br />Mark Kitris graduated from high school in Bethlehem, PA and completed his studies at <br />Penn. St. extension in Allentown, PA. <br /> <br />He is the father of two (2) children Mark and Kym and the proud grandfather of two (2) <br />grandchildren (Jordan & Coltan) <br /> <br />Mark began working in Cabarrus County in 1964 employed by a private contractor to <br />prepare maps and inventory every parcel in the county. This assignment was completed <br />in 1966 and the county offered Mark the position (Cartographer) to maintain the maps he <br />prepared. Mark accepted and began his employment with Cabarms County on March 7, <br />1966. For over 32 years Mark has witnessed many changes, both growth and <br />technological. When he began the county had approximately 32,000 parcels and now <br />currently we have over 65,000. Mark has seen us go from pen & pencil mapping to a <br />sophisticated computerized GIS mapping program which has greatly enhanced the entire <br />program. <br /> <br />I have worked with Mark for approximately 27 years. I truly appreciate his friendship and <br />his dedicated service to our county. <br /> <br />From his staff and I, Congratulations Mark! We all will miss you and wish you health <br />and happiness during your rocking chair years. <br /> <br /> <br />
