Late bids will not <br /> be considered. <br /> <br /> Time for Receiving Bids <br /> <br /> 3:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Date for Receiving Bids <br /> <br /> Tuesday December 9, 1997 <br /> <br /> Bid depositJbond requirements <br /> <br /> Bid Deposit: <br /> <br /> All bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit. Note Carefully... This deposit may take the form of cash, <br /> certified check, cashier's check, or bond, and must be in the amount of at least 5% of the bid. The bond <br /> must be "executed by a corporate Surety licensed under the laws of NOrth Carolina" to execute such <br /> bonds (G.S. 143-129). The cash, cashier's check, or certified check may be retained if the successful <br /> bidder fails to enter into the proposed contract. <br /> <br /> The above bid deposit is required by State Law and may not be modified. Bidders should therefore <br /> comply with this requirement carefully and specifically. If a bid bond is utilized, the Surety must be a <br /> corporate Surety authorized to do business in North Carolina. <br /> <br />Bank money orders, uncertified checks, telegraphic money orders, etc., are not acceptable forms of bid <br />deposits. <br /> <br />Bid deposits of unsuccessful bidders will be returned as soon as the contract is awarded. The successful <br />bidder's deposit will be returned upon proper and complete execution of the contract. <br /> <br />All bids of $30,000 or more require County Commissioner's approval. Once bids are opened, final <br />Commissioner's approval will be requested at the next regular meeting thereof. <br /> <br />Award of Bid <br /> <br />Bids shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder taking into consideration quality, past performance <br />and the time specified in the proposals for the performance of the contract. <br /> <br />Each bidder shall submit a proposal on the enclosed bid proposal form provided. The bid must be signed <br />by an authorized official of the firm. Bids may be rejected if they show any omissions, alterations of form, <br />additions not called for, conditional bid, or any irregularities of any kind. <br /> <br />The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. It further reserves the right to waive <br />formalities and technicalities insofar as it is authorized to do so, where it deems it advisable in protection <br />of the best interest of the County. <br /> <br /> <br />
