Casper, Chairman <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING INTENT TO <br />CLOSE EASEMENTS DEDICATED <br /> FOR PUBLIC ROAD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the December 16, 1996, meeting of the Board of <br />Commissioners for Cabarrus County (the "Board"), the Board <br />acknowledged receipt of a Petition to adopt a Resolution and Order <br />closing approximately three hundred (300) feet of King Arthur Court <br />north of its termination at a cul-de-sac, in Township 4, Cabarrus <br />County, North Carolina, more particularly described in Map Book 15, <br />Page 34, in the Office of the Register of Deeds of Cabarrus County <br />(the "Road"); and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to N.C.G.S. 153A-241, it is the intention of <br />the Board to conduct a public hearing to close the Road; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board desires to notify the public regarding said <br />public hearing on the issue of closing the Read. BE IT THEREFORE, RESOLVED THAT: <br /> 1. A meeting and public hearing on the closing of <br />approximately three hundred (300) feet of King Arthur Court north of <br />its termination at a cul-de-sac, Township 4, Cabarrus County, North <br />Carolina, shall be held before the Board at 7:00 P.M., on the 21st <br />day of January, 1997, or as soon thereafter as persons may be heard. <br /> 2. This Resolution declaring the Board's intent to close an <br />easement dedicated for a public road be published in The Independent <br />Tribune on Monday, December 23 and 30, 1996, and 3anuary 6 and 13, <br />1997, and be prominently posted on at least two (2) places along the <br />Road. <br /> 3. Judging will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 18. <br /> <br /> <br />
