NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />ORIGINAL LEASE <br /> <br /> THIS LEASE, made and entered into this the 1st day of July, 1997, by and between the <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, a body <br />corporate and politic, hereinafter called "the County" or "Cabarms County", and HISTORIC <br />CABARRUS, INC., a non-profit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State <br />of North Carolina, having its principal office in the City of Concord, Cabarms County, North <br />Carolina, hereinafter called "Historic Cabarrus:; <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH: that -- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the County has determined that the property hereinafter described, known as <br />the "Old Cabarms County Courthouse", will not be needed by the County for the term of this <br />lease; and that it is in the best interest of the County to enter into this Lease Agreement. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PREMISES AND OF THE <br />AGREEMENTS HEREINAFTER SET OUT TO BE DONE AND PERFORMED BY <br />HISTORIC CABARRUS, the County does hereby demise and lease unto Historic Cabarrus the <br /> <br />following described property: <br /> <br /> Lying and being in Ward No. 3 of the City of Concord, North Carolina, on <br /> the east side of South Union Street and on the south side of Means Avenue and <br /> being the lot upon which the old Cabarrus County Courthouse in located and <br /> described as follows: <br /> BEGINNING at a point in the southeast intersection of South Union <br /> Street and Means Avenue and running thence with Means Avenue in an easterly <br /> direction to a point; thence in a southerly direction parallel with and 40 feet from <br /> <br /> <br />
