Also, the City <br />will turn over its existing animal control facility for the County to use <br />on an interim basis. The County will assume the interim operational costs <br />through June 30, including the cost of two additional positions effective <br />April 1, 1996 to provide the services now provided by the City. <br />Adopt a revised Animal Control Ordinance to incorporate the changes and <br />place animal control responsibility with the Sheriff's Department as well <br />as designate the Sheriff as the individual responsible for animal cruelty <br />investigations. The City will enact the County's Animal Control Ordinance. <br />Authorize the County to proceed with the- establishment of a new animal <br />control facility on city owned property, with the City to assist in site <br />preparation and install utilities, and the County to be responsible for <br />the design, construction and operation of the facility. The facility will <br />be designed as an animal control facility with space to be available at <br />the site if a group wishes to construct and operate a separate adoption <br />facility. <br />Resolve the issue of the current architectural services agreement and <br />utilize the design concept developed by the Sheriff for construction of <br />the new facility. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Niblock and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the transfer of the County Animal <br />Control to the Sheriff's Department effective April 1, 1996 and authorized the <br />assumption of the City of Concord Animal Control by the Sheriff's Department <br />effective April l, 1996 as outlined by Mr. Clifton. Assumption of the City of <br />Concord Animal Control is contingent upon the City's transfer of the two vehicles <br />and existing animal control equipment/supplies to the County as well as the use <br />of the City's existing animal control facility by the County on an interim basis. <br />Also, the County will add two positions to assume the services now provided by <br />the City of Concord. <br /> <br /> <br />
