Minor Coilector Roads - streets providing service from the <br /> local road system to major collectors and at,rials. <br /> <br />Local Road System - streets which provide direct access to parcels <br />such as cul-de-sacs, streets which do not connect thoroughfares or <br />arbetials, and streets serving less than one hundred dwelling units. <br /> <br />Marginal Access Street - a local or collector street which parallels and is <br />immediately adjacent to an arterial road, and which provides limit~l access <br />to abutting property and protection from through traffic. <br /> <br />Sewage - the waste water and its contents from kitchen, bathroom, toilet, lavatory <br />and laundry of any residence, business establishment, industrial plant, institution, or <br />any public building. <br /> <br />Central Sewage Disposal System - A sewerage system serving two (2) or <br />more dwelling units and approved by the Cabarrus County Health <br />Depaxtment and the North Carolina Department of Environmental Health <br />and Natural Resources which provides a collection network and disposal <br />system and central sewage treatment facility for a single development, <br />community, or region. The State of North Carolina considers central sewage <br />disposal systems to be "Public Systems". For the purposes of these <br />regulations the following distinctions are made: <br /> <br />a. "Public Sewage Disposal System" shall mean a single system of <br /> sewage collection, treatment, and disposal owned and operated by <br /> a sanitary district, a water and sewer authority or district, a county, <br /> or municipality or another public utility. <br /> <br /> b. "Community Sewage Disposal System" shall mean a privately <br /> owned central sewage disposal system or a system owned by a <br /> community association. <br /> <br />On-Site Sewage Disposal System - a septic tank or similar installation on an <br />individual lot which utilizes an aerobic bacteriological process or equally <br />satisfactory process for the elimination of sewage and provides for the proper <br />and safe disposal of the effluent, subject to the approval of health and <br />sanitation officials having jurisdictior~ <br /> <br />Subdivider - any person, firm or corporation who subdivides or develops any land <br />which is a subdivision as herein defined. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br /> <br />
