Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes
May 18t 1995

Page 19

Mr. Brian Little, Resident, addressed the Board stating the area is
very residential and the noise, the debris in the road, and the traffic
problems have only gotten worse. He said in his opinion if Mr.
Plott is allowed to continue growing his business in this area, they
are only going to get worse.

Rev. Ray Helms, Resident, addressed the Board stating if Mr. Plott
is given this rezoning, in his opinion, it would be an asset to the
community. He asked the board to consider letting Mr. Plott put a
nice office there.

Mr. David Douglas, Resident, addressed the Board in opposition to
this rezoning because of the noise.

Mr. Gary Wood, Resident, addressed the Board in favor of this
rezoning stating if Mr. Plott wants to beautify his business, he does
not see anything wrong with iL

Mr. Gerald Bridges, ,Resident, addressed the Board stating he has
nothing against anybody that works like Mr. Plott does to make a
living. He said there are so many commercial places and industrial
parks, he thinks that is where industry should be. You should not
put it out in a residential area that is being developed.

The Chair closed the public hearing on Petition 95-04, stating that this is a special
use application, and the board needs some findings of fact to support any
motion that is made. If the board feels it is necessary or appropriate you can put
certain conditions on the motion but, the applicant has to agree to the conditions.

Mr. Newton stated to the board that they have several options in
front of them. The easiest one would be to approve the petition as
presented, or to deny the petition as presented. Both of which
would require some findings. If you felt some need to further
study this, you could table it until the next meeting. As a board,
you need to discuss this.

Mr. Moose asked if the board could not change it to commercial,
but put a nonconforming use on it so we could permit the upgrade
of the property without going to a commercial zoning.
