as part of the semi-annual sampling required for surface water. The third event, to be
completed in January, 1996, will include the full Appendix 1I list to fulfill the requirement that
once a year, a full Appendix 1I scan should be completed. This task also includes the
collection of one equipment blank, one duplicate sample, and one trip blank for quality
assurance/quality control (QA/QC) purposes during each sampling event. One set of QA/QC
samples will be collected at each landfill during each sampling event. Cost for this task is
based on the standard laboratory mmaround time of three weeks.

Following is an outline of the proposed sampling schedule and the parameters to be analyzed
during each event:

1st event - Sept/Oct, 1995, triggered Appendix II constituents
bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate - Base Neutrals - EPA Method 8270

2nd event - Oct/Nov, 1995, full Appendix I plus triggered Appendix Il
Full Appendix I scan
Base Neutrals - EPA Method 8270 for bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate
Full Appendix I scan for 2 surface water samples

3rd event - Jan., 1996
Full Appendix II constituent list.

TASK 2 - STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

When the results of all three sampling events are compiled, CDM will evaluate the results by
statistical analysis in accordance with the new roles: (1) comparison to N.C. Ground Water
Standards (15A NCAC 2L .0202); and, (2) statistical analysis. CDM will fa'st examine the
results and fa'st determine which statistical test is the most appropriate from among the
approved methods in Rule .1632 (g) and (h). CDM will then perform the required statistical
calculations and include them in the report in Task 3.

TASK 3- LETTER REPORT

Once the analytical results are received, CDM will prepare a letter report for each site for
submittal to the SWS. The submittal will include the laboratory data, water level data, field
parameter measurements, groundwater flow direction and velocity, and a discussion on the
samplMg activities. A summary table comparing the results with the North Carolina
Groundwater Standards will also be prepared.

The responsibility of OWNER as described in Section 2 of said Agreement are
amended and supplemented as follows:

· Review project deliverables in a timely manner.

n:Xcabarms~amend I.
