Plans were distributed through HDR Engineering Inc. of North Carolina. In response <br />to the Advertisement for Bids, twenty-two (22) contractors and/or vendors requested and <br />received drawings and specifications. Three Contract S bids, five Contract A bids, no <br />Contract B bids, two Contract C bids, and five Contract L bids were received. <br /> <br />VI. SUMMARY OF BID OPENING: <br /> <br />All Contract L Bids were publicly opened and read aloud at the date, time, and place <br />specified. In accordance with NC GS 143-132 (b), the multi-prime bids could not be <br />opened because there were no Contract B - Mechanical and Plumbing Bids. However, <br />since there were three Contract S bids, these bids were opened and read aloud with the <br />intent to award on the basis of the lowest single prime bid. The <br />Contract L bid of B.R.S., Inc. contained a minor math error of $0.70 which was <br />corrected to the figure presented above. The change did not affect the ranking of any <br />bidder. The Contract S bid of Concord Builders, Inc. contained a minor irregularity by <br />omitting the name of the manufacturer for the modular treatment units, They have <br />subsequently provided a letter indicating that Davco should have been written into the <br />space provided. <br /> <br />All bidders are licensed North Carolina contractors and each provided the required five <br />(5) percent bid bond. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
