Memorandum <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />When considering this renewal contract, it is important to realize that the actual County <br />expenditure toward the van system is approximately 15% of the actual cost. The increase <br />in the contract cost, the majority of which will provide better service to the users, will be a <br />total cost to the County of $4,441.50 for the 1995 calendar year. This is based on the <br />system operating 282,000 miles. The proposed increase is the first increase per mile in the <br />service since the County began subcontracting the service in 1991. <br /> <br />Also attached is a table showing the use of the van system from July 1, 1994 to October <br />31, 1994. <br /> <br />I have forwarded a copy of the contract to Fletcher Hartsell, and he is reviewing it.
