Witherspoon, County Manager <br /> <br />Don Moorhead, Personnel Officer <br /> <br />DATE: September 1, 1992 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Request for Funding to Purchase Hepatitis B Vaccine for Department of <br /> Social Services Employees <br /> <br />As noted in the attached memorandum of May 12, 1992, a continuing review of OSHA's <br />Bloodborne Pathogens Standard might require the county to provide Hepatitis B <br />vaccinations for those employees in Choreprovider positions. Since then, competent advice <br />has clarified that we must indeed provide these shots. <br /> <br />To cover the anticipated cost of the needed vaccine it is requested that $6,030 ($90 per <br />series of shots multiplied by 67 employees) be transferred to the Medical Supplies account <br />of the Health Department.
