Marshall stated the requested 6 acres is only a part <br /> of the 22 acres that is outlined by old Airport Road. <br /> The dotted lines underneath indicate old property lines <br /> m with deeds ~hat have been recombined over the years. <br /> Nr. Sh%ll£z asked Mr. Marshall outside tl~e proximity of <br /> the map which he showed in detail, what other <br /> m nonconformin~ industrial commercial sites within <br /> or <br /> are <br /> some reasonable distance. <br /> <br /> m Mr. Marshall stated as with most of our ARR zoning, there <br /> are some isolated commercial uses uearb¥. <br /> <br /> m Mr. Olio~Hills asked Mr. Harshall out of the 22 acres the <br /> petitioners own they are only requesting to rezone 6.3~ <br /> acres but they do not' state a purpose why they want it <br /> rezoned. <br /> m Mr. Marshall stated the 9 uses represent the purpose. <br /> <br /> Mr. Amos stated to Mr. Marshall that the I-X <br /> classification in the zoning ordinance on page 11 states <br /> tha~ "this district shall no~ be used to control new <br /> developmen~ and thus, shall not be entertained by the <br /> m county Commissioners for application to the <br /> Board <br /> of <br /> zoning atlas after initial adoption of this ordinance." <br /> Is that primarily just to protect that area, or is it <br /> m indicating when we are looking at areas where an I-X zone <br /> is applied that ~hat should have no bearing relative to <br /> general land use in that area. <br /> m Mr. Marshall stated all it does is limit someone from <br /> requesting that as an option in a rezoning. Those were <br /> applied on 'nonconforming uses at the time of the <br /> m ordinance adoption. It is not to be applied to <br /> nonconforming uses past that date. <br /> <br /> m Chairman Randall opened the public meeting on Petition 91-04 asking <br /> if anyone would lika to speak for or a~ainst this petition. <br /> <br /> m Mr. Mark Speas, A~ent for Mr. & Mrs. Amiri, addressed the <br /> Con~issicn stating he would like to speak on behalf of <br /> Hr. & Mrs. Am'iri. Mr. epees stated the Amiri's are both <br /> natives of Turkey who moved here in the southern piedmont <br />i m area. In 19S8 they purchased ~his property on N.C. <br /> <br /> <br />
