The property will be approximately 275 feet <br /> back off Highway 29, there would be virtually no <br /> visibility of the business from the highway. Mr. <br /> Blackwelder said he does not see where concrete trucks <br /> mwould make that much difference compared to any other <br /> trucks going up and down Highway 29. In talking with his <br /> broker in charge, Ms. Margie Blackwelder, he is asking <br /> mthat the Board look in favor of this rezoning petition. <br /> <br /> Mr? Gene Walker, General Manager of Concrete Supply <br /> <br /> mCompany, stated to the Board they have just erected a <br /> plant in the last two to three years in the Salisbury <br /> area market which is a beautiful piece of equipment. <br /> Mr. Walker stated they plan to pave all the area they <br /> mhave for the concrete plant. The dust is not that <br /> hazardous, and they plan on putting a state of the art <br /> plant there and to be a good neighbor. <br /> m Ms. Margie Blackwelder, AB & T Properties, addressed the <br /> Board stating she is the broker in charge and also one of <br /> the owners. The other two owners were very much <br /> mconcerned about this and they sat down last week to make <br /> sure everyone understood that they wanted this to be <br /> something that everyone would be proud of.This is not <br /> msomething we are trying to do hurt anything, but <br /> something we are trying to do to help someone and help <br /> <br /> mHr. Shultz asked Mr. Walker what is the distance of this <br /> plant from the existing plants in the concrete supply and <br /> competitive plants. <br /> m Mr. Walker stated that concrete supply has a plant out on <br /> Poplar Tent Road and Highway 29. They are anticipating <br /> mon getting a purchase order from Philip Morris to furnish <br /> the concrete for Philip Morris. Me stated they do not <br /> have enough facilities to run this job they got to have <br /> manother plant somewhere in this location. They have one <br /> in Kannapolis on 26th Street, Commercial Products has one <br /> on Stough Road almost at Highway 49, and one which is off <br /> Harris Boulevard about 15 miles from the plant they are <br />!m <br /> - proposing on Highway 29. <br /> Chairman Randall closed the public meeting on petition 91-06. <br /> <br /> <br />
