V. Services To ~e Provided <br /> <br /> Services tO be provlded under the Family Preservation Program shall include <br /> but are hOC limited co: family assessment, intensive family and individual <br /> counseling, client advocacy, development and enhancement of parenting skills, <br /> and referral for other services as appropriate. For the purpose of these <br /> grants, case management ~ill not be provided as a component of the family <br /> preservation se:vices. Case management functions would be carried by other staff <br /> in the county department of social services. <br /> <br /> Services provided to eligible families under the Family Preservation <br /> Services Program shall be provided in accordance with the following <br /> requirements: <br /> <br /> (l) Each eligible family shall receive intensive family preservation <br /> services, beginning with identification of an imminent risk of <br /> out-of-home placement, for an average of four (6) weeks but not mote <br /> than six (S) weeks. <br /> <br /> (2) At least one-half of a social worker's tl~e spent providing family <br /> preservation services to each eligible family shall be provided in the <br /> family's home and community. <br /> <br /> (3) Family preservation social workers shall be available to each eligible <br /> family by telephone and on call for home visits 24 hours a day, seven <br /> days a week. <br /> <br /> (6) Each family preservation social worker shall provide services to a <br /> maximum of four families ae any given time. <br /> <br /> VI. Criteria For Participation: <br /> <br /> County departments of social services that participate must agree to the <br /> following assurances. <br />I (1) The agency will agree to follow the Family Preservation Services <br /> Program guidelines. <br />I (2) Social workers providing family preservation Services have completed <br /> the Introductory Course on Structural Family Therapy or an equivalent <br /> <br />I (3) Social worker's providing family preservation service meet cite person- <br /> nel and training requirements for the provision of Personal and Family <br />I Counseling Services as defined in Family Services Hanual: Volume VII <br /> - Preventive and Support Services: Chapter V - Personal and Family <br /> Counseling <br /> <br /> I county agency participate in training designed support <br /> The <br /> to <br /> the <br /> · Family Prese~vation Services Program. Training will be provided <br /> · through case and staff consultation, technical assistance and droop <br />i learning experiences.
