3. Contract the services of Duke University Medical Center <br /> Division of Occupational Medicine/Occupational Health <br /> Services for a Medical Review Officer (MRO). Or. Kim <br /> Broadwell will be the designated MRO for client. If the <br /> CLIENT determines that the quality of the selected MRO <br /> service is not satisfactory, then an a].ternate MRO will be <br /> co~%tracted with by Wolfe & Associates for CLIENT. The <br /> selected MRO must be approved by the CLIENT. Services to be <br /> performed by MRO for CLIENT include: <br /> <br /> 3a. Review of urine drug testing results by a licensed <br /> doctor of medicine or osteopathy with knowledge of <br /> substance abuse disorders in accordance with <br /> guidelines and applicable State and/or other federal <br /> regulations. Such review will include (but is not <br /> limited to) evaluation of relevant medical records, <br /> medical history or any other relevant medical factors, <br /> consideration of relevant biomedical factors, and <br /> interview of the tested individual. Review for the <br /> presence or absence of five drugs will be <br /> executed: amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, Opiates, <br /> and phencyclidine (PCP). <br /> <br /> 3b: The receipt of a result report from NIDA certified <br /> laboratory for one of CLIENT's employees or <br /> applicants for employment will initiate the review <br /> process; each specimen tested will constitute a single <br /> report. Receipt and review of the Urine Custody and <br /> Control form from the collection site will be necessary <br /> prior to reporting of a test result by MRO to CLIENT. <br /> <br /> 3c: CLIENT authorizes MRO to request specific information <br /> on the actual levels of drugs detected in individual <br /> specimens or to request retesting of individual <br /> specimens by the laboratory providing the initial test <br /> report or to have an aliquot of the sample sent to <br /> another NIDA certified laboratory for testing as deemed <br /> appropriate by MRO or as requested by CLIENT's employees <br /> or applicants for employment. <br /> <br />4. Reports of positive or negative results confirmed by review <br /> will be provided to designated CLIENT representatives (and to <br /> the tested individual by specific CLIENT request) by <br /> facsimile transmission, or U.S. Mail. Results will be <br /> reported as soon as review is complete. Attempts will be made <br /> to provide reports of results within 48 hours of receipt o~ <br /> results from the testing laboratory, but in no event will the <br /> time for reporting.be greater than that allowed be Federal <br /> and/or applicable state law or regulation, e×cept when <br /> circumstances beyond the control of the MRO prevent meeting <br /> such deadlines. CLIENT will maintain all records of test <br /> results. <br /> <br /> (2) <br /> <br /> <br />
