REGION F <br /> <br /> DOMICILIARY HOME <br /> COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEES <br /> (DNCAC) <br /> ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP <br /> <br /> Must reside in the county. <br /> <br /> May not have financial interest in any domiciliary homes (Rest Homes, <br /> Family Care Homes, or Homes for Developmentally Disabled Adults) or have <br /> immediate family with financial interest in a domiciliary home. <br /> <br /> May not have a member of the immediate family in a domiciliary home in <br /> the county. (Immediate family is defined as mother, father, sister, brother, <br /> spouse, child, grandparent or in-laws of the above.) <br /> <br /> May not be employed or have immediate family employed in a county <br /> domiciliary home or serve on a governing board of a facility. <br /> <br /> May not be a County Commissioner° (Commissioners may only be appointed <br /> in an ex off leto capacity.) <br /> <br /> Should be willing to serve an initial one year term. <br /> <br /> Should be available to attend quarterly business meetings and to visit homes <br /> regularly. (Usually these are held during the day.) <br /> <br /> Should have transportation to meetings and faeillties. <br /> <br /> Should be interested in older adults, particularly those who are frail and <br /> isolated. <br /> <br /> Should be able to communicate with residents of domiciliary homes, <br /> administrators and the genera] public. <br /> <br /> Must be willing to attend an initial orientation session and follow up <br /> training provided by the Regional Ombudsman. <br /> <br /> Should be willing to volunteer a minimum of eight hours a month, <br /> <br />Special care should be taken to see that persons with the interest, the time and the <br />willingness to serve are appointed. To the extent possible, committees should be <br />composed of persons that represent a wide range of backgrounds including those with <br />interest in the concerns of older adults and demonstrated involvement in the <br />community. <br /> <br />One third of all appointments are to be nomlnate(l by domiciliary home administrators. <br />If the administrators fail to make a nomination within 45 days after written <br />notification, such appointments may be made by the commissioners. <br /> <br />One DHCAC committee member is to have expertise in the aren of Mental Retardation. <br /> <br /> <br />
