After the inspection, Dr. Fulgh~a pointed <br />out the following inadequacies which should be considered top priori%~, in <br />regards to the Animal Welfare Act. These changes should be cc~pleted by <br />~ctober 1, 1991. <br /> <br /> I, HOUSING FACILITIES <br /> A. Floors are inadequate. SOLUTION: Floors ~re to be sealed. <br /> <br /> B. Drainage - No drainage at all inside the sheltor. <br /> <br /> 1. ~ing to Section . 0202 (e) a suitable m~thod <br /> shall be provided to rapidly eliminate excess <br /> watat' frc~ indoor facility. <br /> <br /> I I, PRIMARY ENCLOSURES <br /> A. Space - Too Crc~ded - Inadequate <br /> <br /> 1. Section , 0204 (a) states that the enclosures shall <br /> provide sufficient space to allow each dog or cat <br /> ~o tkurn about freely and to easily stand, sit, lie <br /> in a c~mtfortable, normal position. <br /> <br /> 2. Sec+ion .0204 (b) s~ates fha% each dog shall be <br /> provided a minimum square footage of floor space <br /> equal to the mathn~tical square of the sum of the <br /> length of the dog in inches, as rr~asttred fzom the <br /> tip of its nose to the base of its tail, plus six <br /> inches.
