CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> <br /> CONTRACT <br /> <br /> This contract made by and between Cabarrus County, hereinafter <br />referred to as the ('County", by and through its Department of Social <br />Services, and Cabarrus ~ietims Assistance Network, Inc., hereinafter <br />referred to as "CVAN". <br /> <br /> wITNESSETH <br /> <br /> ~IEREAS, CVAN provides shelter and other supportive services to <br />Victims of domestic violence and ~s properly incorPorated in the State <br />of North Carolina for this purpose; and <br /> <br /> ~{EREAS, CVAN wishes to secure the financial support of the County <br />for a portion of the costs tecurred to Providing these services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the County, in the interest of the welfare of its <br />citizens, desires to provide financial support for a portion of the <br />costs incurred by CVAN in its provision of these services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, THE County has appropriated the sum of $iO,000.00 for <br />this purpose for the period July ~, 1989 through June 30~ 1990. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the County and <br />CVAN do mutually agree to the following terms and Conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. Tills contract shall begin July 1, 1989 and shall exist and <br /> continue through June 30, 1990. <br /> <br /> 2. CYAN shall provide its services to individuals Who qualify for <br /> these services in relation to CVAN's established policies in a <br /> manner specified by these policies. These Policies are <br /> understood to provide for compliance with Titles VI and VII of <br /> tile Civil Rights Act of 1964 and SectiOn 504 of the <br /> Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as appropriate, in addition to any <br /> other local ordinance, state laws, and federal regulations <br /> which may be applicable to CVAN and its Services. <br /> <br /> 3. The County shall allocate and pay to CVAN twelve (12) monthly <br /> payments of $833.33 each for a total of $10,000,00 with each <br /> payment to be made on or about the last day of each month <br /> commencing July 1989. <br /> <br /> 4. GVAN will undergo an audit of its operations conducted by a <br /> Certified PUblic Accountant and w~ll submit a copy of tile <br /> report of this a~dit to the Department of Social Services <br /> within ninety (90) days of tile conclusion of CVAN' s <br /> established fiscal year. <br /> <br /> <br />
