CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> <br /> CONTRACT <br /> <br /> This contract made by and between Cabarrus County, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "County", by and through its Department of Social <br />Services, and "Meals on I~eels, Inc.", hereinafter referred to as "Meals <br />on Wheels". <br /> <br /> WITNESSETH <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Meals on Wheels provides meals to homebound individuals <br />within the community and is properly incorporated in the State of North <br />Carolina for this purpose; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Meals on Wheels wishes to secure the financial support Of <br />the County for a portion of the costs incurred ~n providing these <br />services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the County, in the interest of the welfare of its citizens, <br />desires to provide financial support for a portion of the costs incurred <br />by Meals on Wheels in its provision of these services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The County has appropriated the sum of $25,650 for this <br />purpose for the period July 1, 1989 through June 30, 1990. <br /> <br /> NOW, I~IEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the County and <br />}~als on Wheels do mutually agree to the following terms and conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. This contract shall begin July I, 1989 and shall exist and <br /> continue through June 30, 1990. <br /> <br /> 2. Meals on k~eels shall provide its snrvises to individuals who <br /> qualify for these services in relation to Meals on <br /> established policies in a manner specified by these policies. <br /> These policies are understood to provide for compliance with <br /> Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Section <br /> 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as appropriate, in <br /> addition to any other local ordinances~ state laws, and federal <br /> regulations which may be applicable to Meals on Wheels and its <br /> services. <br /> <br /> 3. The County shall allocate and pay to Meals on Wheels twelve <br /> (12) monthly payments of $2137.50 each for a total of <br /> $25,650.00 with each payment to be made on or about the last <br /> day of each month commencing in July, 1989. <br /> <br /> 4. Meals on Wheels will undergo an audit of its operations <br /> conducted by a Certified Public Accountant and will submit a <br /> copy of the report of this audit to the Department of Social <br /> Services within ninety 90 days of the conclusion of Meals on <br /> Wheels' established fiscal year. <br /> <br /> <br />
