5. Service for a largo area in the northwest section of tile county needs <br />to bo addressed. Although representatives of the Odell Cormmunity were <br />invited to attend, no participant came. <br /> <br />6. The main station is located in a high density area and functions wall. <br /> <br /> RECOb~]ENDATIONS <br /> <br />I. That tile sub-station presently located at }{wy 49-601 be relocated in <br />the vicinity of Hwy 49-01d Charlotte Road area. The proposed service area <br />within an eight minute response time would extend in a northerly direction <br />to the West Concord area (bordering main station service area), in a <br />southerly dirnction to Rocky River (bordering the proposed Midland and <br />present }larrisburg service area), ~n an easterly direction to []wy 40-Jingler <br />Road (bordering tile proposed Mt. Pleasant area) and a westerly direction <br />(bordering tile end of the Ilarrisburg service area). <br /> <br /> This leaves the area beyond Concord Farm Road and vicinity out of any <br />projected eigbt minute response time area. <br /> <br />2. That a county ambulance service be located in Mt. Pleasant with an <br />Eastern Cabarrus County Ambulance Committee being responsible for providing <br />a site and a building, This building will be deeded to tile Town of Mt~ <br />Pleasant with a stipulation that the county nsc same as an ambulance station <br />with ua charge to the county for its use. The most desirable site, accord- <br />ing to the Mt. PleasaMt representatives would be "across from the fire <br />station on Main Street". Tile area served by an estimated response time of <br />eight minutes would extend in a northerly direction to tile Watts Road <br />Community, southerly direction to Georgoville, (bordering tile proposed <br />Bethel service area), easterly direction to the Steely County Line and in a <br />westerly direction to Hwy 49-11eclat Road (bordering the sub-station service <br />area). <br /> <br /> This prnpossl leaves a northern area of the county in parts of Township <br />5 and Township 6 out of the oigbt minute response time project. <br /> <br /> Full responsibility for operation and maintenance in Mt. Fleasant would <br />be tbe responsibility of the county. See a~tflched copy compiled by Ben <br />Mabrey for projected costs to the county. <br /> <br />3. That consideration be given to establishing a county ambulance service <br />to Midland. This service could be offered with a projected eight minute <br />response time if it were located in the vicinity of lIwy 27-Bethel School. <br />Inquiries have been made concerning possible sponsorship or land acquisi- <br />tions to eo avail. <br /> <br /> Service could be provided in a northerly direction to Hwy 601-Monroe <br />Circle (joining Mt. Pleasant and Cabarrus County sub-station areas), a <br />southerly direction to ~he Union County line, an easterly direction to the <br />Steely County line and a westerly direction to Rocky River Road (joining the <br />Harrisburg service area).
