D. Members of Cabarrus Authority for Water and Sewer <br /> <br /> 1. Following initial appointment of members, vacancies arising from <br /> completion of terms of office will be filled by thc County <br /> Commission by reappointin~ the member whose term has expired or <br /> by elevating the senior alternate to membership status. <br /> <br /> 2. If any member or members are absent from a duly ealled meeting of <br /> the Authority, the alternates serve as members during that meeting <br /> with the senior alternate being the first to assume "member" status. <br /> <br /> 3. If a vacancy occurs because of death or resignation, the senior <br /> alternate will automatically assume a member position and will serve <br /> for the remainder of the replaced member's term of office. <br /> <br /> 4. In the event the vacancy involved the Chairman or Vice-Chairman, <br /> CAWS will elect a new Vice-Chairman for the remainder of the year. <br /> <br /> 5. Any alternate vacancy will be filled by the County Commission from <br /> the approved list of nominees provided by the Cabarrus Authority for <br /> Water and Sewer. <br /> <br /> 6. Alternates are to attend the meetings of the Cabarrus Authority for <br /> Water and Sewer. <br /> <br /> 7. Just compensation for expenses related to serving on the Cabarrus <br /> Authority for Water and Sewer should be established by the County <br /> Commission for the members of the Authority. <br /> <br />IV. Officers of the Cabarrus Authority for Water and Sewer <br /> A0 Chairman <br /> 1. The Chairman of the Authority is to be elected by the membership. <br /> 2. The Chairman serves a one year term and is eligible for reelection. <br /> <br /> 3. Chairman will be a county member of the Rocky River Authority <br /> once that body is formed. <br /> <br /> 4. The Chairman will preside over all meetings of the Cabarrus <br /> Authority for Water and Sewer. <br /> <br /> B. Vice-Chairman <br /> <br /> 1. The Vice-Chair'man of the Authority is to be elected by the <br /> me mbership. <br /> <br /> 2. The Vice-Chairman serves a one year term and is eligible for <br /> reelection to that position. <br /> <br /> 3, The Vice-Chairman will be the second county appointee (if needed) of <br /> the Rocky River Authority once that body is formed. <br /> <br /> 4. The Vice-Chairman will preside over the meetings of the Authority in <br /> the absence of the Chairman. <br /> <br /> <br />
