As you remember, we made contact last year but were <br />unable to accertain your interest due to conflicts in meeting dates of the <br />Commissioners of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />We have enclosed a letter from the Division of Economic Opportunity outlining the <br />two optfons you would have if you are interested in Community Act/on for the <br />poor, elderly and disadvantaged of your county. <br /> <br />As an agency, we would further like to provide weatherization services to the <br />citizens of your county. This is a program designed to prevent heat loss in <br />homes and thereby saving energy and money for the poor and elderly residents. <br />This pro~ram is sponsored by the Department of Commerce and is not connected with <br />the Division of Economic Opportunity. Salisbury-Rowan Community Service <br />Council has provided these services for the past seven years in Rowan County <br />and has seen great benefits to the low-income citizens. <br /> <br />I will be happy to appear before the County Commissioners and further explain <br />Community Action, at your request.
