CABARRUS COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE ARTICLE Sec. 1. gstablishment and composition Of tbe Animal Control Advisory Cormnlitfee. Thoro is hereby created all Advisory Committee to .advise the Cabarrus Connty Board of l~ealth and the Director of tile Cabarrus County Health Department with respect to animal control matters. The Advisory Con~mittae is to be composed of five (5) members appointed by the Board of tlealth J. coi~sl~ltation with the Board of County Commissioners. The members of the Advisory Committee shall serve terms as established by the Board of Health. The R~biea Control Officer(s) will serve as chairman. Sec. 2. Establishment and co~position of tile Animal Control Depa_!frtment~; appointment and compensation of dep~lrtment employees. There is hereby created an Animal ~ontrol Department of the county, which shall, he co~nposed of such employees as shall be determined by the Board of accordance with the persom/~l policies of Caharrus County. Sec. 3. General duties of Animal Control Department. Tile Animal Control Department shall be charged with the responsibility of: (1) Ei~forcing, in this county, all state and county laws, ordinances anti (2) Cooperating with the Itealth Director and assisting in the en[orcement (3) Investigating .cruelty or animal abuse with regard to animals. (z~) Making such canvasses of the county, iucluding tile homes in tile animals are vaccinated agoinst rabies as reqt~ired by local o'rdlnance (5) Operating, pnrsnant to policie~ of the Board of County Conmlissioners, the county animal shelter(s). Sec. 4. Records to be k~pt by .Animal Control. Department. (l) Impoundment and disposition of all animals ¢o~uiag into the allimal (2) Bite ca,es, violatious and complaints, and investigation of same. (3) All monies beloagieg to the county which were derived from impoundment All other records deemed necessary by the Connty ~lanager.. lO
