Sec. 9 . Violations <br /> <br /> Any person violating the provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a <br />misdemeanor and fined not more than fifty dollars ($50.00) or imprisoned for a <br />period of not more than thirty (30) days. <br /> <br />Sec. 10. <br /> <br /> This ordinance shall apply to all areas of Cabarrus County which lie <br />outside of the corporate'limits of any municipality. <br /> <br />S~c. 11. <br /> <br /> This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after tbis __ <br /> <br />day of ( ), 1983. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE II <br /> <br /> RABIES CONTBOL <br /> <br />Sec. 1. Compliance with state law, article as supplement to state law. <br /> <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for any animal owner or otber person to fail to <br />comply with the state laws relating to the control of rabies. <br /> <br /> (b) It is the purpose of this article to snpplement the state laws by <br />providing a procedure for tbe enforcement of state laws relating to rabies <br />control, in addition to the criminal penalties provided by state law. <br /> <br />Sec. 2. Inocnlation of dog~, cats and otber pets <br /> (a) It shall be -un]awful for an owner to fail to provide currenl <br />inoculation by a licensed veterinarian against rabies (hydrophobia) for any do~ <br />or cat four (4) months of age or older. Should it be deemed necessary by th, <br />County Health Director, the Board of County Conunissioners or the State PnbiJ <br />llealth Veterinarian tbat other pets be inoculated in order to prevent <br />threatened epidemic or to control an existing epidemic, it shall be uulawfu] fo <br />an owner to fail to provide current inoculatioo by a licensed veterinaria <br />against rabies for that pet. <br /> <br /> (b) A rabies inocolation shall be deemed "current" for a cat if th <br /> inoculation has been given within the preceding twelve (12) months. A rabi(- <br /> inoculation sball be deemed "cnrrent" for a dog if two inoculations have bec <br /> given one year apart and booster doses of rabies vaccine administered eve~ <br /> three years thereafter. <br /> <br /> Sec. 3.
