If a safety <br />device activates, the light monitoring that particular safety system will display. <br /> <br />As the safety system has been cleared, the light will go off; the normal light <br />will display indicating the unit may he further operated. <br /> <br />Carrier Positioning <br />Means shall be provided to manually operate the drive assembly from the front of <br />the unit, from the operators view point. This manual operation shall be performed <br />from a standing position to aid in the viewing of files as they are rotated. A <br />safety switch shall deactivate the unit if it is being operated manually without <br />the aid of power. In no way shall the machine be made operable by means of by- <br />passing any or all of the intended safety devices. <br /> <br />Operator Controls <br />The following controls shall be provided as standard: <br /> <br /> a. Master on/off switch <br /> b. Safety status panel <br /> c. Touch control key-pad with 0-9 numeric keys <br /> d. Single control "up" key for manual "up" operation <br /> e. Single control "down" key for manual "down" operation <br /> f. Single control "clear" key to clear a prevlous entry <br /> g. Single control "retry;~ key after a safety activation has been cleared <br /> h. Single "unassigned" key for future use as an interface key <br /> <br />Control Console <br />The control console shall be located at the front edge of the posting board for <br />ease of control. The console will consist of an index grid, the key-pad control, <br />and the visual indicator readout. <br /> <br />The visual indicator readout will visually display in at least %" high characters. <br />the carrier number selected for access. <br /> <br />The control console shall be recessed into the surface of the posting board and <br />have sufficient design as to protect control keys from being inadvertently <br />depressed by a tray that may have been withdra%~. <br /> <br />Control Circuits <br />The control circuits shall be solid state and designed with a modular concept. The <br />control circuits shall be readily accessible from the front of the unit. <br /> <br /> a. Wiring from the key-pad logic board and the commutator logic <br /> board shal'l be of the ribbon cable edge connector type for fast <br /> reliable maintenance. <br /> <br /> b. The system key-pad and other major electronic components designed <br /> to be easily removed or replaced. <br /> <br /> c. The commutator shall be designed to provide movement through the <br /> shortest path for bringing carriers to the posting level. <br /> <br /> d. Power requirements - 1000 watts everage ~ 10% having a power <br /> factor of 95% <br /> <br /> <br />
