Existing subdivision and health regulations should be up- <br /> dazed whenever it becomes apparent that existing develop- <br /> tllenu trends threaten hea!zb, safety, or property value. <br /> <br /> ~on=ns regulations should be applied in such a way that <br /> safety and life quality are maintained or improved within <br /> zbe county by ensuring such things as adequate air and <br /> light, safety from fire, panic, or other danger; lessened <br /> conjestion in the streets, prevention of overcrowding of <br /> land and buildings; and prevention of development beyond <br /> environmental capability of the land to support proposed <br /> <br /> C. In order to facilitate emergency response and property <br /> identification, programs to eliminate deceptively similar <br /> and duplicate street names within the county should con- <br /> tinue. Placement of street signs and assignment of accu- <br /> rate house numbers based on the North Carolina Grid Sys- <br /> tem should also be continued. <br /> <br /> <br />
