Ineligible SBA Applicants <br /> <br />SBA Certified development Company financing is not <br />available for non-profit organizations: print media such <br />as newspapers and magazines, lending institutions, such <br />· as hanks and finance companies: gambling facflifies: rec- <br />reation facilities that are not open to the public; and <br />investment real estate. Further, a certified development <br />company is prohibited from owning any equity, interest in <br />a small business concern which has received Section 503 <br />assistance. <br /> <br /> Use of Proceeds <br /> <br /> Certified development company financing can be used <br /> for the following "hard costs": acquisition of land and <br /> buildings, construction, expansion, renovation and mo- <br /> dernizalion, machinery, and equipment and reasonable <br /> contingencies. In addition there are certain "soft costs" <br /> which qualify for certified development financing includ- <br /> ing interim interest· professional fees for services such as <br /> appraisals, surveying, accounting, engineering, and archi- <br /> tectural services. <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
