A. By burning in an incinerator'of a type inspected and <br /> approved by the Health Director and certified as being <br /> in compliance with applicable regnlations. <br /> <br />B. By burying in a sanitary landfill that is designed, <br /> operated and equipped in accordance with the recommenda- <br /> tions of Special Bulletin No.'479 of the North Carolina <br /> .State Division of ttealth Services, entitled "Refuse <br /> Disposal by Sanitary Landfill", and Bulletin No. 411 of <br /> the North Carolina Division of Health Services, entitled <br /> ."Rules and Regulations Providing Standards for Solid Waste <br /> Disposal". <br /> <br />C. This ordinance shall not be construed to prevent any <br /> person'owning and occupying a single family dwelling <br /> from properly disposing of solid waste produced from his <br /> own residence by burying it in a manner approved by the <br /> Board of'ttealth. <br /> <br />SECTION VII - APPLICATIONS FOR SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PER~ltTS AND <br /> FRANCHISES <br /> <br /> Ali persons applying for a solid waste management permit <br />or a franchise for the collection or transportation of solid waste <br />shall first file a formal written application with the Health <br />Director containg such information as may be requested by the Health <br />Director, including, but not limited to, tile nature of the applicant's <br />equipment and the territory in which the applicant desires to operate. <br /> <br />SECTION VIII - COLLECTION OF SOLID WASTE <br /> <br /> No person for hire shall collect or transport solid waste <br />without an appropriate solid waste management permit issued by the <br />Health Director. Collection shall be accomplished once each week <br />at a frequency or at intervals specified by the ltealth Director, <br />except in the following conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. No collection of garbage by franchise haulers <br /> is required to be made on days that snow is on <br /> the roads. <br /> <br /> 2.Only road side garbage pickup is required when <br /> snow remains on the ground. <br /> <br /> 3. Garbage secured in out buildings need not be <br /> picked up <br /> <br />A. The Health Director shall issue no permits for tile collection <br /> or transportation of solid waste without inspection of the <br /> facilities, equipment and proposed operating methods of <br /> any person making application therefore, and certifying <br /> that said facilities, equipment and operating methods are <br /> in compliance with regulations promulgated by the Board <br /> of Health. <br /> <br /> -5- <br /> <br /> <br />
