I talked with Bill Stewart, an Area <br />Planner at DET in Raleigh, this morning, and he told me to end our <br />Title VI Project while we still have a staff member at work, which <br />means that we wil~ lay off the 5 participants in the Projeet on <br />July 23rd instead of July~31st. Since Debbie Heath's last~day is <br />the 24th, this extra day will enable her to prepare the necessary <br />.paperwork to terminate these people. These participants will receive <br />a two week written notice stating the final day they can work. <br /> <br />Bill Stewart stated that perhaps someone with the Youthwork Program <br />could close out the Project program, since all the expenditures for the <br />program will not be available until the 'first week of August. <br /> <br /> YOUTHWORK <br /> <br />PAYROLL: <br /> <br /> (a) Number o~ participants receiving checks in June 168 <br /> (b) Amount of payroll* $ 23,881.54 <br /> (c) Number of personnel: administrative 2 <br /> - counselors (part-time) 3 <br /> counselors (full-time) 2 <br /> (d) Amount of participant services** $ 3,570.01 <br /> (e) Amount of administrative costs** $ 3,432.28 <br /> <br /> The average cost per participant to <br /> administrate the program (e .'- a) $ 20.43 <br /> <br />COMMENTS: <br /> <br /> The Summer Youth Pr.ogram'is running very smoothly. <br /> <br /> An application for the Winter Program in the amount of $~1-3~,2T6 <br />is to be mailed from COG on July 14th. The application and back-up <br />budget is due back to cOG on August 3rd. A decision as to whether <br />or not the County wants to bid on this program should be reached, and <br />Program Director, Joe Mingo, should be notified of this decision as <br />soon as possible since it takes approximately two weeks to complete <br />the application. _ ~ . <br /> <br />* excluding fringe benefits <br /> including fringe benefits <br /> <br /> <br />
