Dr. Marvin P. Rozear has filed at ~he Board of Elections for the <br /> position of DistriCt Supervisor. <br /> <br /> Expense vouchers for the District Supervisors were completed at <br /> the and of each six months, presented for their signature and <br /> approval and mailed' to the N. C. Department of Natural Resources- <br /> Soil and Water Division. <br /> <br /> Officers elected for the Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District <br /> for 1980 were: <br /> <br /> J. Lewis Patterson Chairman <br /> A. Frank Herrin, Jr. Vice-Chairman <br /> J. Harold Nash Secretary-Treasurer e <br /> <br /> FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES. (J. Harold Mash) <br /> <br />DUring the 1979-1980 fiscal year, we have operated on $2032.28 <br />matching funds from the Soil and Water Division of the N. C. <br />Department of Natural Resources along with the County appropriations <br />of $5360.00. The Distr~ct is grateful to the Cabarrus CoUnty <br />Watershed COmmission for their financial help each year. The Cabarrus <br />County Commissioners approved $5360.00 to the Watershed CommiSsion <br />to promote the watershed project and support 'the'District programs. <br /> <br /> EyVonne McDaniel, District Clerk'received an increase in salary <br /> beginning July 1, 1980. <br /> <br /> From July 1, 1979, the Treasurer has issued checks to'cover expenses <br /> for a tour to Cane Creek Watershed project, County Fair Exhibit, <br /> Farm Family of the Year, Sun Drop Bottling Company for the conservation <br /> tours, Soil Conservation Society of American for booklets, extra help <br /> on conservation tours, bus drivers for conservation tours~ annHal <br /> speech contest, gifts for the judges, pla~ues for Outstanding awards, <br /> Wildlife award, Billy W. Hull-Part time hours~ Soil Stewardship <br /> material, Area VIII and State and National dues, registration and <br /> workshop fees for District Clerk, door prizes for Area Meetings, <br /> Land Judging contest, Resource Conservation Workshop and special <br /> office supplies. <br /> <br /> In April, 1980, the 1980-81 budget was approved by the Board of <br /> Soil and Water Supervisors and Watershed Commissioners.' Tl~e budget <br /> was presented to the Cabarrus Codnty Commissioners for approval. <br /> Additional funds were requested by the Board to hire a District <br /> Technician. <br /> <br /> EDUCATIONAL AND PUBLIC RELATIONS ACTIVITIES: (Rev, Thomas E.
