/ <br /> HELPFUL [lINTS <br /> <br /> 1. Insure all necessary attachments are completed and signed by the <br /> approp~£ate county official. (Each county has a designated person <br /> authorized tosign applications.) <br /> <br /> 2.-. The Division of Crime Control must have ~ha original and one <br /> ~i~',~:copy of each a~plfeation. ~i: <br /> <br /> 3. In addition to the four official receipt dates as specified <br /> in this memorandum, the applicant may request in writing an <br /> extension of application submission beyond the necessary <br /> receipt date. The applicant must provide adequate justification <br /> for the requested extensiom and will b~ notified only if request <br /> is disapproved. <br /> <br /> Applications submitted beyond the appropriate receipt date and <br /> without an approved extension will be processed during the <br /> following receipt date period. Example: An application <br /> received April 20 will not be processed with the April 1 <br /> applications, but will be given a July 1 receipt date and <br /> processed at tha~ime. <br /> <br /> 5. All grant applications must be acted on within 90 days o~ their <br /> official receipt date. <br /> <br /> 6. Program costs may not be incurred prior to the beginning date <br /> of the grant award. <br /> <br /> 7. During the processing of each application, requests for additional <br /> information or clarification may be required by the Division staff. <br /> ~ letter will be sent to the applicant requesting information and <br /> each letter will contain a final date for responding to the latter. <br /> Please respond to the letter ~o the best of your ability and insure <br /> responses are submitted in terms to meet the specified deadline. <br /> Failure to respond satisfactorily and/or in a timely manne~ will <br /> result in administrative disapproval of the application. <br /> <br /> 8. Ail applications must request a minimum o~ $2,500 in ~ederal funds <br /> in order to be processed. <br /> <br /> 9. Each new program with a twelve month budget will be given a 15 <br /> month grant period in order to allow the applicant a 3 month start <br /> up period if needed. <br /> <br /> 10.
