A citizen involvement effort is necessary [o insure coordination between the <br /> various components Of the juvenile justice system. Citizen involvement is <br /> required which takes into account input from at least the following: <br /> <br /> All public and private local agencies whose main function is to <br /> serve children in trouble with the law or potentially in trouble <br /> with the law and their families; <br /> <br /> b. Citizens with an interest in the problems of juvenile delinquency; <br /> and <br /> <br /> c. Youth, and youth consumer representatives. <br /> <br />An approved system of citizen involvement is one in which there is an advisory <br />committee which includes but is not limited 5o the following representation: <br /> <br /> a. One representative from each of the local school systems; <br /> <br /> b. One representative of each public and private agency 1) which receives <br /> state CBA monies, 2) mhich receives LEAA juvenile monies, 3) whose <br /> chief function is to serve children in trouble with the law; <br /> <br /> c. One representative of the District Juvenile Court Counselors; <br /> d. One consumer (youth involved in the juvenile justice system); <br /> e. One adult volunteer in the juvenile justice system; <br /> f. One citizen concerned with juvenile delinquency. <br /> <br />This advisory committee is the point of high visibility for the juvenile justice <br />system..- and therefore, it must report directly £o the public through a written <br />report to the county commissiouers which they will make available upon request. <br /> <br /> <br />
