OF STONEWALL JACKSON PARK <br /> <br /> BY THE CABARRUS BOARD OF COUNTY COb~IISSIONERS <br /> <br /> ~tEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 provides for the <br />making of grants by the Heritage Recreation and Conservation Service~ Department <br />of Interior of t~e United States Govrnmenr to States and local governments in <br />support of Outdoor Recreation projects and such funds as are available after app- <br />roval of the appropriate State Agency and the Heritage Recreation Conservation <br />Service; <br /> <br /> I~EREASj The State is required to insure that there will be no discrimina- <br />tion against any person of any race, Color, sex, creed, or political affiliation; <br />and <br /> <br /> I~{EREAS, The County Cotnmission of the County of Cabarrus realizes that <br />recreation facilities are not adequate to meet the minimum recreational needs of <br />the people of Cabarrus County; and <br /> <br /> I~EREAS, it is believed that said Commission with the assistance of the <br />general public is now in a position to lend support to the development of <br />Stonewall Jackson Park. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY CO~IISSION OF THE COUNTY OF <br />CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA: <br /> <br /> (1) Thst an application be made to the Heritage Recreation and Conservation <br />Service of Interior of the U. S. Government through the State of North Carolina <br />for a development grant of $371,375.00 which represents fifty percent (50%)of all <br />cost ($742,750) including preparation, plans and construction of recreational <br />facilities to be completed in the fiscal years 1980-82. <br /> <br /> (2) That the County Manager of the County of Cabarrus be authorized and <br />directed to file snch application on behalf of the County of Cabarr~s, to provide <br />additional information and to furnish such documents as may be required by the <br />Heritage Recreation and Conservation Service and the State of North Carolina and <br />to act as the authorized correspondent of the County of Cabarrus. <br /> <br /> (3) That the Director, Heritage Recreation and Conservation Service Depart- <br />ment of Interior of the United States Government be, and hereby is assured of <br />full compliance by .the applican~ wltb the regulations promulgated pursuant to <br />Title VI of Civil Rights Act of 1964. <br /> <br /> I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. <br /> <br /> (s) <br /> Co~missioner <br /> <br /> SECONDED BY: <br /> <br /> Read, approved and adopted, this Commissioner <br /> <br /> __ day of ., 1979 (s) <br /> Chairman <br /> APPROVED AS TO FO~'I: <br /> (s) <br /> (s) Clerk <br /> County Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
