Section 2. The Cabarrus County Commm~ity Relations Com- <br />mission may employ a Director and staff members, xvhose employa~ent <br />must be ralified by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County. <br />The Commission shall pro]%nulgate its own rules ~] d regulations xvhich <br />shall become effective after approval 1hereof by the Board of Commis- <br />siouers of Cabarrus County. Said Commission shall meet at least once <br />each month and file in writing an annual report to thc Board of County <br />Commissioners. The Commission may organize advisory committees <br />and appoiut ex-officio members of said committees in order to carry out <br />its purposes. <br /> Section 3. The Cabarrus County Com]~aunity Relations Com- <br /> ]~aissioa shall gerve as an advisory body to lhe Board of County Commis- <br /> sioners and to the County A,I~ager. <br /> <br /> Section 4. It shall be the duty of the Commission to study <br /> problems in all areas of Cabarrus County pertaining to relationships among <br /> individuals and groups of all kinds, and to make recommendations to the <br /> Commissioners fox' thc betterment of such relationships within lhe commu- <br /> nity. In performiog its functioas, the Commission shall invite and enlist <br /> [he cooperation of all racial and ethnic groups, as well as persons repre- <br /> senting various economic, educational, and social groups in all areas of <br /> the County, and shall act as a coordinating agency among these and other <br /> groups ~n the community iu the eslab]ishmeui and mainlenaace of educational <br /> programS ia the community designed to bring about better human relations. <br /> Section 5. The general purposes of the Cabarrus County Com- <br /> munity Relations Comn~ission shall <br /> (a) To promote mutual underdanding and respect among all <br /> racial and ethnic groups, among persons of all economic and educational <br /> status, and generally throughout the entire comrnunity so as lo prevent <br /> discriminatory practices, <br /> <br /> <br />
