That if at such election a majority of the qualified registered voters who <br />shall vote on the proposition of the annexation of said territory to t he Paxk~ood Sanitary <br />District shall vote in favor of such proposition, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners is <br />hereby directed to arrange with the North Carolina State Board of Health for a joint Dpblic hearin <br />concerning the annexation of said territory to said Pazkwood Sanitary District and to take all <br />necessary steps for the holding of such heaxing in accordance with law. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That there shall be a new registration of voters in said territory fox said <br />election, beginning Saturday, November 8, 1958, and ending Saturday, Novembe1 22, 1958. No owe <br />shall be permitted to vote unless registered anew. The books for such new registration shall <br />be open on each Saturday, du~ing such registration period from 9:00 A ~vA to 9:00 P M and on weekda's <br />flom 9:00 A M to 5:00 PM. on each S~tu~day said books shall be open at the polling place. <br />Saturday, November 29,1958, shall be Challenge Day. <br /> <br /> Section h. That notice ofsaid election and new registration shall be published once <br />a week for three successive weeks, the first publication to be at least thirty days before <br />the close of the registration books, in the Concord Tribune a newspaper published inCabarrus <br />Countyand circulation in said territory, which notice shall be substantially in the following <br />form: <br /> <br /> NOTICE OF ELECTIONAND NEW REGISTRATION WITHIN THE <br /> BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE <br /> PARKWO(D SANITARY DISTRICT IN CABARRUS COUNTY CONCERNIk~ <br /> THE ANNEXATION OF SAID TERRITORY TO SAID DISTRICT. <br /> <br /> A special election will be held on Saturday, December 6, 1958 between 6:30 A M and <br />6:30 P MEastezn Standard Time, at which election there will be submitted to the qualified <br />registered voters within the boundaries of the following described territory: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point in the center of the Concozd-Kannapolis Highway, said point being <br />150 feet north of the northern boundary of Winecoff School Road, mud running thence in two courses <br />150 feet from and parallel wi~h the northern boundary of Winecoff ~chool Road,South 89 degrees <br />~est 900 feet, South 55 degrees West llTO feet more ox less to a point 150 feet north of the <br />northern boundary of Winecoff School Road and 150 feet west of the western boundary of Linker <br />Street extended; thence a line in two courses 150 feet from and parallel with the western boundry <br />of Linker Street, South 21 1/2 degrees East 550 feet, South 29 degrees East 625 feet <br />less; thence a line 150 feet from and parallel with the southern boundary of Stewart Street North <br />72 1/2 degrees East 860 feet rca point 150 feet from the western boundary of School Street extende <br />thence a line 150 feet fr~m and parallel ~o the westeln boundxy of SchoolStreet extended South 20 <br />degrees East 390 feet; thence North 33½ degrees ~as~t550 feet more or less; thence a line 250 <br />feet from and parallel to the western boundary of the Concord Kannapolis Highway No~th 15 1/2 <br />degrees West 650 feet; thence North 85 1/2 degrees East 265 feet to a point in the center of the <br />Goncozd Kannapolis Highway; thence with the center of said Highway North l~ 1/2 degrees West 900 <br />feet more or less to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />The same being the ~undaxies of the territory proposed robs annexed to the Parkwood ~anitaxy <br />District in Cabazrus County, the proposition of the annexation of said territory to the <br />Parkwood Sanitary District. <br /> <br /> If a majority of the qualified registered voters who vote on said p~oposttion vote in <br />favor thereof, t heChaixman of t~s Board of Commissioners will arrange with the No~th Carolina <br />State Board of Health fox a joint public hearing concerning the annexation of said territory <br />to said Parkwood ~anitaxyDistxict and will take all necessary steps fox t~e holding of such <br />hearing in accordance with law, including the giving of pxioI notice of such hearing. <br /> <br /> A new registration of voters in said territory has been ordered, beginning Saturday Novemb~ <br />8, 1958 and ending Saturday, November 22, 1958.
