Frank James introduced <br /> the following resolution which was read: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION IN THE <br /> COLD WATER FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the~Board of Commissioners for the <br /> County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br /> Section I. The Board of Commissioners has determined <br /> <br /> and does hereby find and declare that it has received petitions <br /> from the Cold Water Fire Protection District of more than <br /> 15% of the resident freeholders living in that area on June <br /> 3, 1968, entitled: <br /> <br /> We, the undersigned resident freeholders and/or <br /> qualified voters living in the area now covered <br /> by the Cold Water Volunteer Fire Department <br /> lying outside the corporate limits of the City <br /> of Concord and designated as the Cold Water <br /> Volunteer Fire Department District, hereby <br /> respectfully petition the Board of County <br /> Commissioner~ of Cabarrus County to call an elec- <br /> tion in said. idistrict for the purpose of sub- <br /> .mitring to the qualified voters therein the <br /> question of levying a~d collecting a special <br /> tax on all taxable property in said district, <br /> of not exceeding'fifteen cents (15¢) of the <br /> one hundred.doll.ar ($100.00) evaluation of pro- <br /> .,'per'tylfor'"the purpose of providing fire pro- tection in said district. <br /> <br /> SECTION II. A special election is hereby ordered to <br /> <br /> be held ~ the Cold Water Fire Protection District, in <br /> Cabarrus County, North Carolina, on Tuesday, July 30, 1968 <br /> between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Savings <br /> Time, at which time there shall be submitted to the qualified <br /> registered voters of the said Cold Water Fire Protection <br /> District, the following proposition: <br /> <br /> An election in the Cold Water Fire Protection <br /> District for the purpose of submitting to the <br /> qualified voters therein the question of levying <br /> and collecting a special tax on all taxable <br /> property in said district, of not exceeding <br /> of the $100.00 valuation of property, for the pur- <br /> pose of providing fire protection in said district. <br /> <br /> · SECTION III.
