· he re.qular monthly meeting of the Cabarrus County Commissioners was <br />held at 9:30 A. M. on November 2, 1770, at the Courthouse, with the follow- <br />tng members present: <br /> Chairman: C. Frank 3ames = <br /> Commissioners: Dr. R. B. Rank/n, Jr., S, Glenn Hawfield, Jr., C. McNeil <br />Petrea and Robert A. McClary. <br /> Chairman C. Frank 3ames called %he meeting to order. Prayer was by <br />the Reverend Herbert Brown. Minutes were read and approved. <br /> <br /> Farm agent J. Ray.Allen requested an additional $200.00 in the Home <br />Agents~ budget to provide for expenses for two additional personnel 'being <br />added to the staff by the state at no salary cost to the county. The two <br />new people would assist personnel in the low income group .in nutrition <br />management, particularly in the use of food stamps in purchain.~ food. <br />Rankin made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve this appropriation. Vote <br />was unanimous. <br /> <br /> A. F. Daniel, C.P.A., presented the annual audit of the county's books <br />as of June 30, 1970. After a discussion Commissioners approved the audit <br />report as presented and which !ncluded all budget chan.ges made during the <br />fiscal year 1~65-1~7©. Petrea made motion, seconded by McClary to accept <br />the audit report. Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> P. L. Ledbetter, CD. airman of the Rockland Sanitary District submitted <br />to the Board a Copy of the audit report prepared by Daniel and Daniel <br />C.P.A.'s for the Rockland Sanitary District for the .f~tscal year ending <br />3une 30, I~70. The Board discussed .the audit report and approved release <br />of the Sanitary District tax collections since the .r. equirement for sub- <br />mitting an audit report had been complied ..with. <br /> <br /> A letter from Mrs. Frances B. Long, Director of the Department of <br /> <br />Social Services was presented to the Board requesting two additional per- <br />sonnel in order that the department be able %o bring their work up to date <br />in the Medicaid program. She explained that all people who qualify by law <br /> <br />for Medicaid had to be served. She said that of October 15, the <br /> as <br /> 1970 <br /> <br />department had 247 applications they had not been able to process with the <br />current staff. After a discussion Petrea made morton, ~econded by Ranktn <br />to approve the addttton of an eligibility specialist and a typist I and <br />to amend the salary budget of that department to provide Sh. gO0.O0 additional <br />county funds to take care of the county's portion of this expense. Vote <br /> <br />WaS unanimous. <br /> <br /> <br />
