82 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, met in regular <br /> <br /> session Tuesday, September 7, 1971 at 9:00 a.m. at the Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman - S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners - Robert A. McClary <br /> C. Frank James <br /> Charles Gallimore <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> <br /> Invocation was by the Reverend J. Marion Fulk, Sr., Mt. Mitchell <br /> <br /> Methodist Church. <br /> <br /> Minutes of the regular meeting of August 2, 1971 and of the special <br /> <br /> meeting of August 16, 1971 were read and approved. <br /> <br /> An ordinance providing penalties for persons failing to pay ambulance <br /> <br /> service fees was unanimously adopted on second reading. This resolution, as <br /> <br /> adopted, is re~orded on Page 52 of minute book 16. <br /> <br /> At 10:00 a.m. the Chairman announced that this was the date and hour <br /> <br /> fixed by the Board for the public hearing upon the order entitled: <br /> <br /> "ORDER AUTHORIZING $1,500,000 COUNTY COURTHOUSE BONDS" and that the <br /> <br /> Board would immediately hear any and all citizens and taxpayers who might <br /> desire to protest against the issuance of said bonds. The following citizens <br /> and taxpayers of Cabarrus County appeared in person and protested against the <br /> issuance of said bonds: <br /> <br /> 1. J. V. Baucom <br /> 2. C. McNeil Petrea <br /> 3. Dr. R. B. Rankin, Jr. <br /> 4. R. L. Dorton <br /> 5. Lonnie Carroll <br /> 6. Allan Miles <br /> 7. Margaret Carroll <br /> 8. Essie Honeycutt <br /> <br /> and in addition, a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Roy G. Harvey was read to the Board <br /> and is attached to these minutes. Ail of the foregoing protests were duly <br /> considered by the Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
