Section 2. That at the first biennial election after the adoption oi~ this resolution, <br /> <br />of the five gandidates elected as members of the Royal Oaks Sanitary District Board, the <br />three candidates receiving the three highest numbers of votes shall be elected for four- <br />year terms and the remaining two candidates elected shall be elected for two-year terms; <br />that at each biennial election thereafter the election shall be for a four-year term. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Secretary of the Board of County Commissioners shall forward a <br /> <br />certified copy of this resolution to the Cabarrus County Board of Elections. <br /> Section 4. Lloyd Miller, Chairman, Jackdale Caldwell, Jake Corriher, Members, <br /> <br />and E. L. Poole, Member and Secretary. <br /> <br /> Absent: Jack.E. Middleton, Member. <br /> <br /> Jackdale Caldwell introduced the following resolution which was read: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY <br /> OF CABARRUS TO PROVIDE FOR STAGGERED TERMS FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE <br /> SANITARY DISTRICT BOARD OF THE ROYAL OAKS SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 126 of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina <br />provides that where a Sanitary District Board consists of five members, three such <br />members may be elected for a four-year term at one biennial election and two members <br />may be elected so that their terms will expire at tn alternate biennial election; and, <br /> <br /> <br />
