WHEREAS, the Sanitary District Board of the Royal Oaks Sanitary District is of the <br />opinion that it would be beneficial to the Sanitary District to stagger the terms of office <br />of the members of the Sanitary District Board so that there would always be serving on the <br />Sanitary District Board at least two members who have had prior experience; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Sanitary District Board of the Royal Oaks Sanitary District is of <br /> <br />the opinion that the election of members to the Sanitary District Board for staggered terms <br />would be in the best interest of the Sanitary District; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners for thelCounty of <br />Cabarrus be and it is hereby requested to take such action as is required by Section 126 <br />of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina so as to provide that the members <br />of the Sanitary District Board of the Royal Oaks Sanitary District may be elected for <br />staggered four-year terms, the terms of three members expiring at one biennial election <br />and the terms of two members expiring at the next biennial election. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded by the <br />Secretary of the Sanitary District Board of the Royal Oaks Sanitary District to the <br />Board of County Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Jackdale Caldwell, seconded by Jake Corriher, the foregoing <br /> <br />resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF CABARRUS TO PROVIDE FOR STAGGERED TERMS FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE SANITARY <br /> <br />DISTRICT BOARD OF THE ROYAL OAKS SANITARY DISTRICT" was passed by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: J. Lloyd Miller, Jackdale Caldwell, Jake Corriher, and E. L. Poole. <br /> Noes: None. <br /> <br /> I, E. L. Poole, Secretary of the Sanitary District Board of the Royal Oaks Sanitary <br />District, Cab arrus County, North Carolina, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing is a <br />true copy of the minutes of a meeting of said Sanitary District Board held on <br /> <br />January 17, 1972, so far as the same relate to the passage of the foregoing resolution. <br /> <br /> WITNESS my hand and the seal of said Board, this the 4th day of February, 1972. <br /> <br /> (E.
